What to expect on your first visit

Our doctors will assess your medical history; take your weight, height, BMI (Body Mass Index) and blood pressure. If you meet the criteria they will discuss the best treatment plan for you. You will be given advice on healthy eating and exercise.

What is the criteria?

You must be 18+ (ID required)
Have a BMI in excess of 30 or 27 with a co-existing condition, not be taking any medication for conditions such as depression or epilepsy, not being pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding.

Follow up appointments

You will be offered a follow-up appointment for the following week to see how you tolerated the medication. Your weight and blood pressure will be taken and depending on how well you tolerated the medication the doctor may prescribe a higher dose.

How much does it cost?

Medication costs from £20 per week

How do diet pills work?

We offer two different types of appetite-suppressant pills. Phentermine and Diethylpropion. These medications release chemical messengers to the appetite centre of your brain, which causes appetite suppression and reduced hunger giving you more control over your dietary habits.

What is the expected weight loss?

We would expect you to lose at least 5% of your body weight over 12 weeks.

Is it safe?

Yes-- Central Slimming Clinic is CQC registered. All medications used in the clinic have appropriate licenses. All our doctors are registered with the appropriate regulatory bodies such as the GMC.
